Tony George Framing - welcome to my site

The beginning

My name is Tony George Seale and I have always enjoyed working with wood. When the Covid pandemic hit, my other business was badly affected and I decided to turn my hobby, making picture frames for my family and friends, into a business. Our daughter moved out from our family home, so I converted her old bedroom into a shared framing studio and craft room for me and my wife.

The business

Having been born, grown up, worked and lived in this area all my life, I am pleased to have so many local clients. I am happy to visit you in your home to discuss your framing requirements. I can then take your artwork with me and when completed you can collect from my studio in Chertsey or I can deliver back to you by hand.
You may have a piece of original artwork, a print or a poster you wish framed. You may even have a photograph needing a bespoke frame or that special sports shirt or keepsake. Just give me a call.

The frames

I strive to offer a good quality frame from as locally sourced suppliers as econimically possible. All my frames are made from solid wood (not mdf / compressed paper) usually obeche/ayous and pine. I make many of my own tray frame / floating frame mouldings from scratch. The mitre joints are always glued and affixed further with v-nail wedges. All my frames are made without large machinery or any automation and all cuts are hand sanded for a good finish. The back is finished with high quality hardboard and secured with points/tabs and sealed with 2 layers of sealing tape. Finished off with d-rings and a strong hanging cord.

Mounting and mounts

All my mounting is made from high quality mounting card. These are cut by hand with no machinery. Artwork will be carefully affixed, if necessary, using acid free fixing tape.

Glass

All glass is cut/scribed by hand again with no machinery. 2mm real glass (not acrylic/plastic) is used as standard.
